James Whitbourn: Annelies

Rutland Choral Society

We are delighted to present a performance of Annelies, the choral setting of The Diary of Anne Frank, by James Whitbourn. Annelies is a 75-minute choral work, divided into fourteen movements, telling the story of a German-born Jewish girl who went into hiding under Nazi persecution and of her subsequent capture near the end of the Second World War.

We are very pleased to bring this work to you with professional musicians Melanie Reinhard (piano), Christopher White (violin), Matthew Forbes (cello) and Steve Morris (clarinet). The choir will be conducted by Caroline Trutz and accompanied by Paul Butler on the organ.

Tickets are available at https://www.wegottickets.com/rutlandchoralsociety or in-person from Oakham Wines, choral society members and on the door. Admission is free to children under 16 years when accompanied by an adult.

Oakham Train Station (https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/OKM/details.html) is a 10-minute walk via Northgate from the concert venue. Car parks: https://www.rutland.gov.uk/roads-transport-parking/parking/council-car-parks
