Clarinet Workshop

Sheffield Clarinet Ensemble

The focus of this workshop is bringing out the best of the clarinet ensemble. We plan to have two large ensemble sessions when all the participants will rehearse and play a few pieces together, interspersed with a selection of smaller, more focused one-hour workshops with the tutors covering topics such as 'getting the best out of your bass clarinet', 'individual tips and tricks', 'breathing' and 'develop your ensemble playing'. In addition, there will be the chance to take part in / watch 1:1 masterclasses where volunteers can choose their own repertoire and receive guidance from our tutors to optimise their performance. There will be a public performance at the end of the day to showcase what we’ve been working on. One of our aims as an ensemble is provide a safe space for adult clarinettists to grow whatever stage they are in their music making and therefore we welcome both amateurs and professionals to join in the fun.
