Music Inspired by Times Past

Solent Concert Orchestra

Themed “Music Inspired by Past Times” our Autumn Concert will take place at Cornerstone, Hythe United Reformed Church, at 3pm on Saturday 18 November 2023.

The orchestra will be playing a selection of music inspired by history, fairy tales and composers from times gone by, including:

• ROSSINI La Cenerentola Overture
• DELIBES Movements from Coppélia Ballet Suite
• RAFF Sinfonietta for 10 Wind Instruments
• BOYCE A Boyce Suite, WALTON Two Pieces from Henry V
• BRAHMS Variations on a Theme of Haydn (Saint Anthony Chorale)
• KITCHERSIDE Lymington Quay

This concert includes a collection for Totton-based charity Dentaid. Dentaid is a dental charity that provides dental care and oral health advice for people experiencing homelessness and other under-served communities. Dentaid’s mobile health units travel the UK providing outreach dental clinics for people who struggle to access treatment. This work truly changes lives, helping vulnerable people who have been living with the misery of toothache and restoring their self-esteem by giving them more confidence in their smile.
