Free workshop Day: Christopher Wood's Requiem
St Georges Singers, Poynton
A chance to spend a day learning a new work, absolutely free, AND earn £10 for your choir!
St George’s Singers have been invited to host a workshop day to learn and perform the best known work by Welsh composer Christopher Wood. Requiem, premiered in 2012 to warm acclaim, is a lyrical and accessible setting of the Requiem Mass. It was inspired by the extraordinary response of the British people when Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother died in 2002 and captures the emotion of that moment.
This workshop day offers the chance to explore the work in depth with St George's Singers and a team of professional choral singers under the leadership of Musical Director, Neil Taylor. The day will conclude with an informal concert.
The day will be free to singers, all music will be provided and your choir will receive £10 for each member attending.
