Stockport Schools' Brass Band in joint concert with Leyland Band

Stockport Schools’ Brass Bands

Stockport Schools Brass Band (SSBB) is the Brass Ensemble provision in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
We provide opportunities for players in the Stockport area to learn to play a brass instrument or percussion and to play in one of our bands.
We take players from the age of 6 years to 19 years old irrespective of ability.
Our ensembles represent some of the best young brass musicians of the future.

The first half of the concert will be performances by each of the SSBB bands, which will showcase the talented young musicians from across Stockport.

The second half will be Leyland Band who were founded in 1946 in the heart of industrial Lancashire as the Leyland Motors Band.
Leyland Band have recently been awarded 2nd place in the Championship section of the North West Regional Finals

This will be followed by a massed band item with over 70 players joining to perform an arrangement of the beautiful hymn Deep Harmony
(Sweet is the work, my God, my King).
