Now is the Month of Maying

The Elgar Chorale

From Elgar to Delius, from Howells to Britten and from Holst to Maxim. "Now is the Month of Maying" is a programme of music for May-time. A selection to delight lovers of English music from the last 100 years. The concert will enthral with instrumental interludes and changes of pace and colour.  The Elgar Chorale of Worcester, directed by Piers Maxim, will be singing in the Victorian Parish Church of St Stephen's, just off the Droitwich Road in Worcester, on Saturday, 6th May 2017 at 7.30 pm.

The programme, including music by Elgar (four unaccompanied part-songs), Delius (To be sung of a Summer Night on the Water), Holst (Rig Veda), Britten (Ballad of Little Musgrave), Howells (Two Madrigals) and Maxim (Four Lullabies for the Girls).  With Harp and piano accompaniments to give additional texture to the singing of the Elgar Chorale a wonderful evening is in store for those attending.

There will be an interval when refreshments can be purchased.  This promises to be an enjoyable and friendly musical evening. Tickets will be £12 (students £8).
