The Springtime of the Year

Vocalis Chamber Choir’s spring concert ‘The Springtime of the Year' takes place on Saturday 16 March at All Saints’ Church, Kirkby Overblow. All Saints’ Church is a wonderful, warm and light-filled place for a musical event: the choir’s a cappella performance will be supported by the extraordinary acoustic of this ancient building, a delight for performers and audience alike.

Alex Kyle, Musical Director of Vocalis has named the concert after one of three folksongs by Vaughan Williams and the concert is inspired by the birds and flowers of spring. It also includes music by Bennet, Gibbons, Britten, Hensel, Pearsall, Stanford and Holst whose 100th and 150th anniversaries fall this year, respectively.  Music by Weelkes, Lotti, Stainer and Palestrina reflect the Eastertide timing of the concert.
