Westmorland Orchestra

The Westmorland Orchestra gave its first concert in 1945. The membership is made up of over 50 dedicated amateur musicians who rehearse weekly in Kendal from September to May and give three public concerts a year. In its performances of large-scale works, professional musicians augment the orchestra. It presents the full range of the established symphony concert repertoire, and also newer, lesser-known works of the 20th and the 21st century. It actively supports and encourages young musicians embarking on a professional career
