Music by Maurice Duruflé (his deeply moving Requiem and Missa Cum Jubilo), coupled with the purest plainsong (but never plain!) of Hildegard of Bingen (Columba Aspexit), other colourful works by Gustav Holst (an eight-voice setting of Ave Maria  for female voices) and Cecilia McDowall (The Lord is Good - an intensely expressive setting for two soprano soloists and choir based on the Lamentations of Jeremiah). The Byrds will be joined on this occasion by organist Stephen Hargreaves, Cellist Stephen Laidlaw, Mezzo-Soprano Susan Marrs and Baritone Damian O'Keeffe.
