CANCELLED Winchmore String Orchestra Concert in aid of "Music for All"
Winchmore String Orchestra
In view of the current situation, this concert is cancelled.
Music ranging from Bach and Mozart to Tchaikovsky and two quintessentially English composers of the 20th century. There will also be two soloists, joining us in BACH’s Concerto for violin and oboe in D minor. TCHAIKOVSKY is represented by the Elégie from his evergreen Serenade for Strings. The English works are HOLST’s Brook Green Suite, written for pupils of St Paul’s Girls’ School, where he taught for nearly 30 years, and the jolly Suite for Strings by John RUTTER, which was inspired by folk tunes. The concert will end with MOZART’s graceful and witty 29th Symphony.
