Valediction - music by Parry, Debussy & Dubois
Wooburn Singers
Wooburn Singers under our musical director Tom Hammond-Davies, present a beautiful programme for our spring concert -
Théodore Dubois: Seven Last Words of Christ is a rarely performed setting of texts from the crucifixion. The choir will be joined by organist James Brown, harpist Tomos Xerri, percussionist Tristan Fry and singers, Aileen Thomson, Nick Pritchard & Brian McAlea.
Debussy’s lively a capella Trois Chansons and his Danses Sacrée et Profane for harp and piano are a complete contrast musically.
Parry’s poignant Songs of Farewell, written shortly before his own death 100 years ago, will provide a moving finale to the concert.
