Come & Sing! Verdi’s Requiem one-day choral workshop

Worcester Festival Choral Society

Amateur singers of all kinds are invited to 'Come & Sing' Verdi's thrilling Requiem in an exciting, one-day choral workshop held in Worcester on Saturday 22 April 2023.

The event, hosted by Worcester Festival Choral Society, will combine the chance to learn (or brush up on) the choral sections of this spine-tingling work, alongside fascinating musical insights and singing tips; all led by Worcester Cathedral's esteemed director of music, Samuel Hudson.

More than 100 other like-minded singers from across the UK are expected to attend the workshop, which will be held at St Andrew's Methodist Church in historic Worcester.

Participants don't need choral experience to take part, but some ability to read music is useful to get the most from the day. There will be plenty of refreshment breaks to relax and socialise. Plus, as always, there'll be an array of homemade cakes and pre-orderable hot lunches to tempt the tastebuds.

Doors open for registration from 9.30am, with singing sessions starting from 10:15am. In the afternoon there will be an informal performance of what has been learned, which participants' family and friends can attend free of charge. The day will then finish by 4.45pm.
