Handel: Messiah

Worcester Festival Choral Society

Worcester Festival Choral Society’s annual performance of Handel’s glittering oratorio Messiah has become renowned as the region’s ultimate pre-Christmas concert.

For more than 275 years, Messiah has held a unique place in the affections of music lovers across the world. Its compelling arias and great choruses – such as the Hallelujah chorus and For unto us a Child is Born – are among the most popular pieces of classical music ever written.

Featuring the 150 voices of Worcester Festival Choral Society, the Meridian Sinfonia baroque orchestra and internationally acclaimed soloists Brittany King (soprano), Kate Symonds-Joy (mezzo-soprano), Daniel Joy (tenor) and James Birchall (bass-baritone), this major concert promises a memorable evening of glorious choral music in the majestic setting of Worcester Cathedral.
