Wordsworth Singers

"Sing Joyfully" - a concert by The Wordsworth Singers on Saturday 22nd July 7.30 pm St Mary's Church, Ambleside.  The programme will include 17th century works to mark the 400th anniversary of the deaths of William Byrd and Thomas Weelkes, alongside the delightful "Songs and Sonnets from Shakespeare" by George Shearing.  Also, contemporary pieces from James MacMillan and a second outing for "The Three Birds" commissioned by the choir from Cecilia McDowall and premièred at last year's Lake District Summer Music Festival.  Guest conductor Michael Bawtree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
