Haydn Nelson Mass
Yateley Choral Society
Yateley Choral Society returns with full force in 2022 to confront Haydn’s energetic and tempestuous Missa in Angustiis, more commonly known as the Nelson Mass.
Also on the menu is Handel's ravishing Zadok the Priest, with its famous introduction known so well at coronations and royal weddings. In the royal theme, and in this Jubilee year, we perform William Boyce's vivacious The King Shall Rejoice composed for the coronation of William III in 1761. Mozart makes a cheeky appearance too, with his Laudate Dominum, a favourite for Classic FM listeners.
We are thrilled to be joined in this performance by West Forest Sinfonia and four outstanding professional soloists. The orchestra will play Holst's beautifully nostalgic St Paul's Suite, and accompany the choir and soloists throughout the programme and notably for Handel's little-known early work Nisi Dominus.
Do join us for what promises to be fantastic concert of music performed by first-rate musicians.
