Musical Director

Liverpool based choir Indigo Vibe is looking for an enthusiastic, creative Musical Director. We’re a small, flourishing and very friendly a cappella choir which rehearses on Tuesday evenings  in central Liverpool. Our current repertoire spans songs from the fifties to the present day, in a wide range of genres. We’re looking for someone who can lead rehearsals that will be fun but also challenge us musically.

We are a non-audition choir, welcoming everyone who wants to sing, but aiming for all our members to become increasingly confident and competent singers.

We run occasional workshops for the public as a way of publicising the choir and attracting new members and we perform around half a dozen times a year. Many of our performances are fundraisers for charity - our most recent charity performance in March this year raised over £1400.

The successful candidate will have:

• at least some prior experience of directing a choir
• the ability to teach people with varying levels of musical experience and enable everyone to learn their parts by ear
• the ability to source, adapt and arrange songs, usually in 4-part harmony, from a wide variety of genres
• the ability to play keyboard (or other suitable instrument) during rehearsals, to a reasonable standard.

Rate of pay is £80 per 2 hour rehearsal. £40 per hour for workshops and performances.
