How does it work?

With a few clicks you can create your gig, inputting the date, location and other key details such as rehearsal and performance timings. You can then search for the instruments, voice types or other skills you need. The system will match your requirements with performers who want to work in your area.

You can then view performers’ biographies and publicity photos from your list of search results, and choose musicians with just the right skills and experience for your event.

You can opt to send out one gig offer and wait for a reply or - if time is of the essence – send  multiple offers out at once. You'll be able to see when the performer has read your offer.

The performer will receive a text and an email alerting them, which links to all the details of your gig. They’ll get in touch with you directly to let you know if they're available.

It’s FREE to search for a musician and to send out a gig offer. All our performers are listed in the Map a Muso directory.

Case study: Sussex Symphony Orchestra

‘It was the Orchestra’s 30th anniversary event, so a big one for us. On the morning of the concert, our oboe/cor anglais player discovered she had Covid – and we were due to play Berlioz Roman Carnival Overture, with a huge, beautiful cor solo in it!

A colleague said, ‘This is just what Map a Muso is for!’ so she entered the concert information on her phone and sent out some gig offers to performers. We found a replacement within 10 minutes. It works brilliantly from a fixer’s point of view – the player was fabulous and the concert was a big success. We were all delighted that Map a Muso solved the problem for us. It's such a great resource for groups like ours.’ - Mark Andrew James, Sussex Symphony Orchestra
