Navigating the new website
Towards the end of October we launched a brand-new website, designed with our members in mind. This is a quick rundown of basic things you need to know as you get used to the new site.
First of all, some practicalities
The site address name remains the same – www.makingmusic.org.uk
When logging in for the first time, you will need to request a new password using the same email as you did on our old site. Just visit www.makingmusic.org.uk/user/password
Members’ Area
Once you have logged in you will be redirected to the new members’ area. A key concept of the site is that the Members’ area is a one-stop-shop. It has everything you need in one place and will help ensure you are taking advantage of the huge range of benefits you get as part of your membership.
The new landing page will include the latest news, events and announcements.
Down the lefthand side is a menu to help you navigate to what you need. Some of the key items to look out for are:
- My Groups – access insurance documents, manage your group contacts listed with us, add events and add vacancies.
- Support by topic – search for resources, news and events on a range of topics
- Services – find out about, and sign up for, our services
- Events – book onto our events
- Discounts – browse discounts offered by our Corporate members
- Projects – find out about the projects we run (including Classic FM Christmas Carols)
- Advocacy – find out about the work we are doing to support and celebrate leisure time music – and how you can help.
- Members Directory – search for and contact fellow members groups
- Recommended Artist database – a new database where you can search for our professional artists recommended by other members.
We have also included video demonstrations below of three key areas: My Groups, Support by topic and Dashboard.
What about the rest of the website?
The members’ area should have everything members need. The rest of the website is designed to serve some of our other audiences such as potential members, professional musicians, media and policy makes
