A Musical Menagerie
Milton Keynes Chorale
A Musical Menagerie:
John Rutter: Wind In the Willows
Horowitz: Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo
Eric Whitacre: Animal Crackers
Join MK Chorale for a fun concert suitable for all ages: a concert full of stories and poems about animals.
Joseph Horowitz's delightful Captain Noah and His Floating Zoo, is a light-hearted adaptation of the Biblical tale of Noah which begins with God instructing Noah to build an ark (much to the amusement of his neighbours!) and ends with the wonderful scene of the rainbow overhead.
Eric Whitacre's Animal Crackers playfully sets six short, humorous poems by Ogden Nash to music and features a diverse range of animals: panther, cow, firefly, canary, eel and kangaroo.
John Rutter's The Wind in the Willows is a witty and enjoyable musical entertainment, based on the book by Kenneth Grahame. The narrator takes us on a journey with Rat, Mole, Badger and Toad that leads ultimately to the best place possible - home.
There will be a longer interval in the concert - time to stretch your legs and have a picnic or snack.
MK Play Association willbe providing animal themed activities before the concert, from 1.30pm
