Music from The great American Songbook

Midland Concert Orchestra

The Midland Concert Orchestra return to the Swan Theatre for a celebration of the 'Great American Songbook': all the classic tunes you love in one concert! From Gershwin to Goodman, from Henderson to Hines, join the MCO as the Swan Theatre celebrates the history of Jazz Music.

Made up of a 'big band with strings attached', the group derive much of their repertoire from the Great American Songbook, the music of Broadway, and a range of Jazz styles from decades gone by.

Joining musical director Joe Davies on stage will be guest vocalists Claire Worboys, Venetia Iga, Jonathan Darby, Garry Rutter and compère for the evening Peter Tomlinson.

Peter is president of the MCO and well-known to many as the originator of Tiswas, a children's television series aired on Saturday mornings.

With over forty musicians and several guest singers who regularly perform with the MCO family, everyone will bring their unique musical talents to this performance.
