Come and Sing Regards from Rochester, a new choral work by Thomas Hewitt Jones, which was premiered at Rochester Cathedral on Saturday 18th March 2023.
Join us for a workshop with the composer and John Mountford, our Director of Music. The day will end with an informal performance.
Regards from Rochester is a 40 minute tone poem full of melody, wit and the vibrant, rich history of Rochester. It is a fun, dramatically varied and accessible work.
Some knowledge of reading music is helpful but this is a community event which is open to all.
Thomas Hewitt Jones won British Young Composer of the Year in his teens and went on to have a very successful career creating choral, orchestral, musical theatre and ballet scores, as well as being the composer of The Funny Song which went viral on Tik Tok. His website is www.thomashewittjones.com
John Mountford is the Director of Music at King's School Rochester, the second oldest school in England.
Registration will open from 10.15 and the workshop will start at 11.00. Please bring your own lunch. Pre-booking is essential.
Scores will be £4 to hire for adults, and free for students and children
