Vaughan Williams anniversary concert

Leicester Bach Choir

Vaughan Williams' original version of the Lark Ascending is performed by international soloists Shulah Oliver (violin) and Jennifer Carter (piano). The choir perform VW Serenade to Music and Five Mystical Songs with another international soloist, bass-baritone James Oldfield. The VW pieces are complemented by new works from well-known Norwegian Ola Gjeilo and British contemporary British composer, Cecilia McDowall. Cecilia is particularly delighted that we are performing her Ave Maris Stella in November as it was written for remembrance. These works are illuminated by 10 fine string players of the Bach Camerata.
