Prestbury Choral Society will perform two requiems in one evening - a real treat for audience and singers alike. Gabriel Faure's gentle, serene, harmonious Requiem, which includes the lyrical Pie Jesu and ethereal In Paradisum, has universal appeal. It is a profoundly beautiful masterpiece, sad yet full of hope.

John Rutter's Requiem is more of a concert piece, composed in 1985 to honour the death of his father, and is very popular around the world. From plaintive to exhilerating, this uplifting music set to beautiful texts has a message of comfort and optimism. Do join us to enjoy this wonderful music.

Gary Hulme is the conductor, accompanied by John Legrove on the organ, and with soloists Jennie Marsden Williams (Soprano) and Paul Chamberlain (Baritone).
