The West Wycombe Chamber Music Festival 2022 concert #5 - Festival finale
The West Wycombe Chamber Music Festival, now in its 11th year, was devised and created by the internationally-acclaimed violist Lawrence Power who grew up in this area of Buckinghamshire. Each year he returns to his home town bringing with him an array of some of the world's leading musicians to perform to audiences in this very special setting.
All concerts are performed in the historic Church of Saint Lawrence at the top of West Wycombe hill.

Concert #5 ‘Fairytales and Nightingales’
The Festival will finish with Fairytales and Nightingales - a fascinating journey exploring some of the most programmatic music ever written. The final work of our 2022 Festival will be the Shostakovich Chamber Symphony, an arrangement of his eighth String Quartet that he dedicated ‘To the victims of fascism and war’. I can’t think of a more fitting way to finish the festival this year as we all find ourselves deeply moved by world events more than ever.
