Alderley Edge Symphony Orchestra: Harty, Mendelssohn, Stanford
Alderley Edge Symphony Orchestra
The Alderley Edge Symphony Orchestra would like to invite you to the first concert of their 2022-2023 season, on Saturday 5 November, at 7.30pm in Alderley Edge Festival Hall. The orchestra will perform Mendelssohn’s profoundly moving Violin Concerto, joined by violinist Kiana Chan (Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong City Chamber Orchestra, Shanghai Baroque Orchestra). Alongside this, we are excited to perform two rarely-performed but underappreciated works from the late-Romantic period. Both Hamilton Harty’s Comedy Overture and Charles Villiers Stanford’s swashbuckling ‘Irish’ symphony are packed to the rafters with good tunes and high-spirited fun, and our Music Director Richard Howath looks forward to sharing these exciting works with you.
Tickets are priced £15 for adults and just £2 for under 18s, and are available from www.aeso.org.uk/nextconcert
