Feel the Spirit!

This will be an uplifting evening of songs, including works by Tallis, Byrd, Rutter and Chilcott.

Our next concert is on Saturday 18th June at St James Church, on the Packington Estate. This is a small, private chapel with glorious acoustics, set in the middle of a deer park, and is our favourite venue for our summer concerts. We will be singing a varied programme, with Rutter’s ‘Feel the Spirit’ as the main work. For a different take on spirituals we will also be singing two of Tippet’s arrangements from ‘A Child of Our Time’, and a piece by Alexander L’Estrange, from whom we commissioned a Christmas carol last year. In addition there is a nod to the Jubilee with some music from the time of the first Queen Elizabeth and some very light hearted moments, including the wonderfully silly Banquet Fugue, another Rutter piece. The evening will be completed by strawberries and sparkling wine, served in the interval and included in the ticket price.

Access is via the Packington Estate entrance from the A45 eastbound, shortly after the Stonebridge Island (A452 junction). Please don't rely on your sat nav as it's likely to take you to the wrong place!
