Handel's Messiah

Ashtead Choral Society

Ashtead Choral Society is one of the leading choral societies in Surrey with about 100 members committed to providing high quality music for both singers and audiences alike. We typically give three major concerts a year, at least two with professional orchestra and soloists. We aim to sing the major choral works by composers such as Bach, Handel, Mozart, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Verdi and Vaughan-Williams and also include in our repertoire works by Tippett, Shearing, Todd and Whitacre.

We are delighted to be able to perform Handel's Messiah on Saturday 23rd April at 7.30 in St Martin's Church, Epsom. The performance will be conducted by our Musical Director Andrew Storey. We welcome back Kent Sinfonia and our soloists will be:
Soprano: Eleanor Pennell-Briggs
Alto: Helen Meyerhoff
Tenor: Adam Tunnicliffe
Bass: James Oldfield

The Messiah is one of Britain's most enduringly popular choral works, last sung by ACS in 2017. This fantastic baroque work is appropriate for Easter and gives joy and hope to all. A fitting work to draw our season to a close
