Barry Collett Memorial Concert
Rutland Sinfonia
Paul Hilliam - Conductor
English Dances (set 2) Op 33 - Sir Malcolm Arnold
Symphony No 2 - Ruth Gipps
Variations on an original theme, 'Enigma' Op 36 - Sir Edward Elgar
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you back to a new season of live music following the last 18 months of quietness caused by the pandemic. This first concert, features music which we know that Barry Collett, the founder of Rutland Sinfonia, would have put in his concerts, and so is dedicated to his memory.
In an all English programme, we have music from Malcolm Arnold, Ruth Gipps and of course, from Edward Elgar, with whom Barry and the orchestra have always been linked.
We are very excited to be playing our first piece of music by a female composer, a theme we hope to continue in future concerts.
See website for more information about how we are keeping you safe.
