Didcot Concert Orchestra 6
Didcot Concert Orchestra
Didcot Concert Orchestra returns to Cornerstone for its sixth concert on Sunday 8 March at 4pm. Butterworth's quintessentially English rhapsody A Shropshire Lad has an enchanting atmosphere which leaves us wondering what future masterpieces he would have written had he not been killed in World War 1. Then comes a superb but rarely-played gem by Josef Suk – Dvorak's son-in-law – whose Fairy Tale is a broad melodic tapestry that relates the path of true love. We end the concert with Franck's evergreen Symphony in D minor, which has delighted audiences for 130 years. More information and tickets at www.didcotconcertorchestra.org.uk.
