Spring's Sweet Voice' with the Elgar Chorale
The Elgar Chorale
The Elgar Chorale of Worcester will be performing here at Lansdowne Crescent Methodist Church in March and their programme will try to blow away some gloomy cobwebs of winter! Spring will be with us in no time and we hope you will fancy a bit of music to welcome in those longer days........
Elgar’s jolly “From the Bavarian Highlands” will really help lift those winter blues and you will also hear more music by Elgar, arranged by Donald Hunt alongside pieces by Fauré, Herbert Sumsion and Howard Blake.
This will be a concert to relish sung by a fine choir and directed by Piers Maxim, the Director of Music at Great Malvern Priory. The Elgar Chorale will be celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2020 having been formed by the late Dr Donald Hunt in 1980. As well as further concerts this season, they will be performing in the Worcester Three Choirs Festival in July singing a specially commissioned piece by Roderick Williams who will also be performing with the choir. Tickets for ‘Spring’s Sweet Voice’ are £12.50 (£5 students) in advance from 01684594570, at www.elgarchorale.com or from the Malvern Tourist Office and £15 at the door.
