Come and Sing with Salford - Mendelssohn's Elijah

A day working on Mendelssohn’s dramatic work Elijah. Composed specially for the 1846 Birmingham Music Festival it was an immediate success and has been regarded by many as Mendelssohn's masterpiece.
The day will be led by Salford Choral's Music Director, Tom Newall, with accompanist Roderick Barrand. Tom trained at Durham University and at the RNCM. Over the past ten years, he has held principal conductor positions with a variety of ensembles, including Durham University Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, Chesterfield Symphony Orchestra, and Warrington Youth Symphony Orchestra. He is currently Music Director for Salford Choral Society, Leeds Youth Opera and Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra.
Hemsley House has its own free car park, Refreshments will be provided in the breaks and a bar will be also available at lunchtime.
