End of Season Concert
Middlewich Concert Orchestra
The Orchestra is pleased to welcome back Graham Morris to the stage to perform Saint-Saëns’ ’Cello Concerto No.1 in A minor, Op.33. This will be Graham’s fourth performance with the Orchestra, having played for us in 2009, 2011 and 2014. Coincidentally, the Mendelssohn work which precedes Graham’s performance is the same one that preceded his appearance at the first of his concerts on the 11th December, 2009.
Graham studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with Jennifer Curtis, during which time he was awarded the Diane Bolton Prize for ’Cello
Since graduating, he has enjoyed a wide variety of professional work and is a member of Manchester Camerata with whom he has been involved in its recordings of works by Beethoven, Prokofiev, Haydn and Mozart. Graham has worked alongside many top artists, from Martha Argerich to Pinchas Zukerman.
Graham has performed concertos by Dvořák, Schumann, Haydn, Elgar, Saint-Saëns and Tchaikovsky many times across the North West and the Midlands. He has given solo recitals in Birmingham, Liverpool, St. Helens, Manchester, Birkenhead and, most recently, in Knowle Green, Lancashire.
