"The Dream of Gerontius" is widely regarded as one of the greatest Choral works ever written. Elgar's inspiring music, which is a setting of the poem by Cardinal Newman, is a favourite with many - both choirs and audiences. The thrilling "Praise to the holiest" and the moving "Angels' farewell" are musical moments to be treasured.  The concert, which marks the beginning of Oldham Choral Society's 20th year of service by the choir's conductor, Nigel Wilkinson, promises an evening of unmissable music.
