The concert is on the theme of Remembrance, and contains woks by Butterworth, Ireland, Parry, Hayden Wood, and Novello. The main work is "Requiem for the living, composed in 2013 by Dan Forrest, born in Elmira, USA. The work has been performed world-wide over 100 times since its composition, and we have the privilege of giving its regional first performance. The concert also features Elgar's "The Spirit of England", first performed in 1917. The work has been described as Elgar's War Requiem and consists of musical settings of poems by Laurence Binyon.
