Croydon Bach Choir - Open Rehearsal for Prospective Members

Croydon Bach Choir

If you love choral singing and are looking for a choir to join in the Croydon area, then look no further than the Croydon Bach Choir!  We have an exciting term ahead of us, culminating in our summer concert at Croydon Minster on 1 July.  We are thrilled that along with Mozart's Coronation Mass and some favourite opera choruses, we will be peforming the world premier of Mark David Boden's "Homo Sum".  This work is being composed specially for us under Making Music UK's "Adopt a Composer" scheme, and BBC Radio 3 are going to record the piece during the concert and will broadcast excerpts of it at a later date. Adopt a Composer is run by Making Music in partnership with Sound and Music, in association with BBC Radio 3, UK project funded by PRS for Music Foundation and the Philip Dorothy Green Music Trust.

So, if you like the sound of all of that and would like to be a part of it, why not come along to our next open rehearsal for prospective members on Wednesday 19 April.  Our rehearsal venue is the modern and comfortable St Matthew's church in the Park Hill area of Croydon.  We rehearse on Wednesday evenings during term times from 8.00-10.00 pm.  There is a refreshment break half way through, which gives people a chance to have a tea or coffee and chat with other choir members.

We do not hold formal auditions, instead we offer prospective new members a trial period of one term, during which their progress will be monitored by an experienced choir member. Although previous choral singing is an advantage, an accurate voice with a pleasant tone quality, the appropriate voice-part vocal range, a good musical ear and basic score reading skills are more important.
