Stainer's Crucifixion
Fleet Singers
The Crucifixion by Sir John Stainer. The Fleet Singers are conducted by James Davey and accompanied by Philip Godfrey. They will be joined by soloists James Sherwood, baritone, and Ben Thapa, tenor.
This Victorian work will be performed in St Martin's Church NW5, described by Pevsner as the 'craziest of London's Victorian churches', adorned as it was - and is once more - with pinnacles, like some fairy tale castle.
