25th Anniversary Concert – Saturday 8th April 2017

Alton Concert Orchestra will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary in style, with a Spring Concert in the Martin Read Hall at Alton College on Saturday 8th April at 7.30pm. 

Programme: 

Smetana Má Vlast No.2: the Moldau (Vltava)

Philip Andrews Late Autumn and Shooting the Breeze

Tchaikovsky 4th Symphony

 

The orchestra hope the programme will bring you emotion via Tchaikovsky’s dramatic and moving 4th Symphony, experience a voyage along the Moldau with Smetana and be uplifted by Andrews’ Late Autumn and Shooting the Breeze!  To top it off we invite you to raise a complimentary glass to the orchestra’s 25th Anniversary!!

Alton Concert Orchestra is a flourishing community orchestra based in Alton, Hampshire.  It meets on Wednesday nights and comprises of competent amateur musicians of all ages. The orchestra plays three/four concerts a year and is currently directed by conductors David Budd and Christopher Gardner.

The orchestra was formed in January 1992 and performed its first ever concert on Valentine’s Day of that year in The Forum at Alton College.
