Easter Orchestral Society Rehearsal Orchestral Programme.
Easter Orchestral Society
The Easter Orchestral Society is a rehearsal orchestra that runs an annual programme at Ellesmere College in Shropshire.
The aim of the course is not only to tackle repertoire that most amateurs do not normally get the opportunity to play, but to have fun socialising and playing. The course is aimed at very experienced orchestral players with excellent sight-reading skills. We expect there will be a degree of competition for places on the course, particularly in the brass and woodwind sections. In the interests of fairness, players are expected to move between parts where applicable. The course has a core repertoire that is practised for the whole week combined with a playthorugh repertoire to explore areas of music that amatuer orchestral players do not usually get the chanceoto perform.
The final rehearsal is open to the public; there is no charge it is not a concert but an open rehearsal.
