NYO’s spring concert features the talented Nottingham born cellist, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, performing Haydn’s Cello Concerto No 1 in C.
In May 2016 Sheku won BBC Young Musician of the Year, with his performance of Shostacovich’s Cello Concerto No 1.

The programme, conducted by our guest conductor Chris George, also includes Walton’s Johannesburg Overture, Sibelius’ Karelia Suite and Borodin’s Symphony No 2.
