Kent Chamber Choir

A joint concert with the choir of Holy Cross Church, Bearsted. In the first half the choirs combine to sing three Bruckner motets. Between the motets, the choir of Holy Cross sings a varied programme. Kent Chamber Choir commemorates the 500th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare with Vaughn Williams' Three Shakespeare Songs, and two of George Shearing's delightfully jazzy settings of songs and sonnets. The English composer, Gerald Finzi, who died in 1956 is also remembered with three anthems, one of which is sung by the combined choirs, along with Laudibus in Sanctis Domine by William Byrd.
