Bandwise 2017

Music for Everyone

Come to Bandwise! 2017, Music for Everyone’s 18th youth Windband event.

Bandwise! gives young people the opportunity to play a wide variety of music for wind and percussion – from classics to pop and jazz – and to take part in instrumental groups and workshops, all in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Where is it and When?

The next Bandwise! course will take place at Bluecoat Academy, Aspley Lane, Nottingham NG8 5GY on Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 February followed by an informal concert for parents and friends at the Albert Hall, Nottingham on Sunday 5 March.

Who will be there?

Lots of wind and percussion players from all parts of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. All instruments are included: flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, saxes, horns, trumpets, cornets, trombones, euphoniums, tubas, and percussion.

The age range is 8 – 21. The artistic director is Gill Henshaw, Music for Everyone’s principal wind animateur. She will be assisted in conducting and leading workshops by a team of specialists. There will also be a large support group of adult organisers and helpers.

How good do I have to be?

Whether you have been playing for years or have only just reached grade 1, this is for you! Players are divided into three bands…

Bandwise 1 (Associated Board grades 1-2)
Bandwise 2 (Associated Board grades 3-4)
Bandwise 3 (Associated Board grades 5+)

NB Percussion players should be able to read music and play the appropriate grade.
