Come & Sing Vaughan Williams' "A Sea Symphony" - Rehearse and Perform this great work in one day
Oxford Bach Choir
Come and join Oxford Bach Choir for another great Come and Sing day. Rehearse and perform Vaughan Williams' " A Sea Symphony" in one day under the baton of Paul Spicer. Paul, who is conductor of the Birmingham Bach Choir, is best known as a choral conductor, runs choral courses and is much sought after for this type of event. He is also well known as a composer and author of books about Herbert Howells and George Dyson.
"A Sea Symphony" is not performed as often as it should be, and we intend to redress the balance in our own small way. We have two good, young soloists who will join us for the run through performance, and OBC's own rehearsal accompanist will play for the workshop and performance.
Tea, coffee and (more importantly!) cake will be served on arrival and at the breaks, and drinks will be available after the informal performance.
Friends and family are welcome to come and hear the run-through performance at 4.30 pm - £5 at the door.
Tickets for singers - £20 (£10 bona fide students).
£3 for hire of "A Sea Symphony" score.
Tickets for audience for informal performance - £5.
