Mendelssohn's Elijah
Egham and District Choral Society
Mendelssohn's dramatic setting of the story of the prophet Elijah has been a choral favourite since its first performance on 26 August 1846 at Birmingham Town Hall, conducted by the composer himself.
Egham Choral has taken up the challenge of performing this great work, led by its charismatic Musical Director Hugh Beckwith, and accompanied by professional orchestra and soloists together with choral scholars from Royal Holloway University.
Please note the early afternoon start to the concert at 2.30pm. The concert will finish about 5pm.
