Learn to Play

Learn To Play is a free annual national event organised by the UK charity Music for All, to inspire new and lapsed musicians to engage in music-making.

The next Learn To Play event will be on the weekend of 11-13 Oct 2024.

Music for All's annual flagship event, Learn to Play is the biggest free music-making weekend of the year. Running now for over a decade, it aims to inspire, encourage and enable music-making. It connects and champions UK music providers such as community groups, retail music shops and music teachers through a shared celebration.

If you're passionate about widening access to music and have the resources to offer free taster lessons across a weekend, then why not join Music for All as a Learn to Play Provider! Getting involved with Learn to Play by staging a special event on that weekend can help your music group get more involved in the local community, recruit new members and raise your local profile. What you choose to do will vary depending on the space and resources that you have, but encouraging members of the public to take part in the Learn to Play lessons should be at the heart of the event.
