Webinar recording: Climate Change Network - Sustainability for choirs
For our eigth meeting in our Climate Network series (original event 4 December 2026), we discussed some of the latest success stories from our member groups who have implemented more sustainable practices into the ways they work.
We heard from The Phoenix Voices, who won the Making Music 2025 Green Award. Committee members Kris Emmett and Gail Beaver shared how the group decided to become an eco-friendly choir in 2019 in response to the climate and ecological emergency.
They took us through a range of the policies and actions they have implemented, and what they have done to continue their environmental commitment ever since, including: minimising waste at socials, events and rehearsals, car-sharing and taking part in community awareness raising events (eco fairs).
