In Paradisum
Following our tour to France in July 2016, Birmingham Festival Choral Society is pleased to present a concert of much loved French sacred music by Fauré, Duruflé and Dattas.
Messe 'Cum Jubilo' was composed in 1951 by Jean Dattas (the late father of one of our sopranos) while he was organist at Notre Dame in Paris. It was so popular on tour that the choir requested that this beautiful work be included in our November concert.
Jean Dattas – Messe 'Cum Jubilo': Kyrie and Agnus Dei
Maurice Duruflé – Requiem, Op.9
Gabriel Fauré – Cantique de Jean Racine, Op.11
