Topsham Music Festival

Welcome to The Topsham Music Festival

Three Days of Classical Concerts 5 – 7 April 2024

I have long dreamed of organising a classical music festival in Topsham, showcasing talented young musicians, as well as those with professional careers, and attracting visitors to this delightful riverside town. I am keen to enrich the music scene in Devon, my home county, and I wanted to centre my festival on Topsham for a particular reason.

I gave my very first recitals there, and was overwhelmed with the tremendous support I received, which gave me the confidence to begin to perform around the UK and abroad. Setting up a music festival in Topsham is my way to thank everyone who was there for me from the beginning.

The recent pandemic had a major effect on the arts, which has resulted in cuts to arts funding and a reduction in performance opportunities.

I want to do something to offset that loss by providing a platform for talented musicians and bringing the local community and concertgoers from further afield closer together.

This year we are putting on the second Topsham Music Festival and invite music lovers to enjoy a series of lunchtime, afternoon and evening concerts given by esteemed musicians at St Margaret’s Church, and in the Methodist Church close by known as St Nicholas as well as Matthew's Hall. Events range from piano recitals to a harp and trumpet recital, and feature works by many different composers. The festival offers a variety of music and instrumentalists. Despite its small size, I hope this festival has something enjoyable for everyone!
