Come and join Weymouth Choral Society for an exciting and inspiring day of singing at The Thomas Hardye School in historic Dorchester.
The Workshop will be led by guest conductor Simon Earl, Director of Music, Organist & Master of the Choristers at Christchurch Priory, Dorset. Simon is a highly experienced Choral Director and organist – he is the founder of the Christchurch Festival Chorus and musical director of Christchurch Priory Music & Arts Festival. Simon maintains a busy recital schedule, is an examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and is regularly invited to lead and accompany choral events in the UK and abroad.
This daytime workshop will feature choruses from Mendelssohn’s popular, dramatic oratorio ‘Elijah’, through which Simon will focus on vocal and choral technique, musicianship and interpretation.
No prior knowledge of the music is required, although the ability to read music would be an advantage.
