Reading Youth Orchestra

Reading Youth Orchestra welcome young musicians from the Reading and wider area, and are one of the oldest youth orchestras in the country having started in 1944. We aim to provide an inclusive, welcoming and sociable musical environment for young orchestral players, where we work to educate members in orchestral musicianship, technique and repertoire. We also enjoy being able to offer opportunities for our members to develop both musically and socially, not only through organising concerts and social events, but also wider opportunities such as performing solos or composing works for us to play. We are currently a small orchestra but are excited to grow and welcome more young players in the area.
