Tribo CIC

An international non-profit making, cross-cultural drumming & dance music project aiming to educate children and adults, encourage their creativity & improve their well-being.
Started in 2005 by Marcos Santana, a gifted percussionist who learnt from the streets of Salvador aged 8 and played with Timbalada. He started Tribo on the island of Tinharé, Brazil, teaching the children. Expanded to the UK in 2008, Tribo London was established at Maxilla Social club near Ladbroke Grove.
Marcos leads Samba-Reggae drum workshops (face to face and online), introducing students to Afro-Brazilian culture. We play every year at carnival, wearing hand-made traditional costumes inspired by the endangered Amazonian Tribes.
We welcome all abilities, ages and nationalities. We have played free of charge to support the Grenfell tower families, Crisis homeless charity, Black Live matter events, various fund-raisers and at various carnivals and festivals across Europe and in Salvador, Brazil.
